Vacationing With Film - Monterey, CA

I had a chance to head out to Monterey, CA last year. Belinda was attending a conference out there, so since she already had a hotel, I might as well tag along, right? Anytime we're taking a trip, one of the first questions that runs through my head is, "I wonder what I'm going to take photos of?" Since I'd already been to Monterey once before, that question was replaced by, "I wonder what cameras I'm going to take?" I decided to make it a film-only trip.

For me, this was kind of a big deal. I'd been using film for a while now, but had never left all of my digital gear at home. Would I later regret this decision? I decided to take the plunge and pick out a few different cameras to take along, just to have a bit of variety. I figured I'd take my F100 so I could shoot some 35mm. I also grabbed my Holga and Polaroid 360. Using all of these cameras, I had a blast and even got some decent images! I wasn't necessarily trying to take touristy photos, but just to have fun and take photos of things or light that appealed to me.

We started out the trip at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and made our way down to Monterey where we walked on the beach, ate tasty food and even stopped to smell (and photograph) the flowers. Here's a bit of our trip to California on film...

Sunny - Denver High School Senior Photos

Meet Sunny. He's a high school senior here in Denver. This guy is going places. He's got charm, charisma, smarts and a great smile. He's also got a great family (his sister held a reflector for me during his shoot) and a pretty sweet car. Here's what we did on a chilly fall afternoon.
